Practical help for everyday connection problems
HowToFixWiFi is a self-service troubleshooting resource for people dealing with slow, unreliable, or unavailable Wi-Fi. The site brings together plain-language articles, common fixes, and device- and router-aware guide paths so you can work out what to try next.
Start with the troubleshooting tool to describe the problem, or browse the guide library and articles directly.
How our guides work
- Begin with the symptom you can observe, such as a missing network or a connection without internet access.
- Check whether the issue affects one device or several; that helps distinguish a device setting from a network issue.
- Try straightforward checks before changing advanced router settings.
- Use device and router details to find relevant context when a tailored guide is available.
- Contact your internet provider when the connection appears to be down beyond your home network.
Settings and menu names vary by model, software version, and provider. If a step does not match your device, stop and check the manufacturer’s current documentation rather than guessing.
Our approach
Good troubleshooting should be understandable and should not make a small problem worse. We aim to explain the purpose of each check, favor reversible steps first, and distinguish restarting equipment from a factory reset. A factory reset can erase saved network and provider settings, so it should never be treated as an ordinary restart.
Product and company names are used only to help identify relevant devices or services. A mention does not, by itself, imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.
What we can’t do
The site provides general educational information. It cannot inspect your network, see an outage in your area, change your router remotely, or guarantee that a particular step will restore your connection. Provider outages, damaged equipment, account issues, and local regulations may require help from your internet provider or device manufacturer.
Corrections and feedback
If you find a step that is unclear, out of date, or unsuitable for a device, please use the contact details on our Contact page. Include the article or guide title and the device or router model if it is relevant. Please do not send passwords or other account credentials.
